The Lag TKT8 baby guitar is a 6-string baritone ukulele, also known as a guitalele. It's a hybrid between a classical guitar and, usually, a baritone ukulele. The result is a compact instrument that can be easily carried like a ukulele with the chord progression of a classical guitar. The guitalele is generally played in guitar tuning raised to "A" (raised by a 4th, or with a capo at the 5th fret). This results in a tuning of ADGCEA, with the G being a Low G instead of the more common High G on ukuleles.

Travel guitar

Most guitars labeled "mini" are designed to be the ideal travel guitar. A travel guitar should be easy to carry without compromising either the sound or playability. The shorter scale length naturally loosens the strings, making it easier to play with thicker strings on a travel guitar, which in turn improves the sound. The sound box of a travel guitar is naturally more compact than that of a larger guitar. The sound is therefore more responsive, comparable to that of an Orchestra Model, well-articulated and dynamic, with an open, clear tone. The smaller sound box naturally compromises the bass, but this is partly offset by the ease with which thicker strings can be played on a travel guitar.

Mahogany top

Mahogany is often used for the back and sides of acoustic guitars, but it also works very well for the top of a guitar. It produces a warm, more subdued tone with plenty of bass and a strong low-midrange presence. Mahogany's treble is less pronounced but certainly very appealing in timbre.

Mahogany sides and back

Mahogany has long been a highly sought-after wood for the back and sides of acoustic guitars. Its warm, rounded bass tone provides a foundation for any musical style to reach the listener. The midrange is very strong and full-bodied, while the treble is delicate and very pleasant.

Open pore finish

An open-pore finish on a guitar's soundboard allows it to vibrate more freely. This gives the guitar a more resonant and responsive tone. It also keeps the guitar's weight within limits, which in turn enhances playing pleasure.
