Hearing, Reading & Playing —the most comprehensive method for wind instruments—has been published in three volumes for thirteen different instruments, suitable for both group and individual instruction. This successful method is compiled according to the current standards and requirements of music education and the corresponding examinations. Each book is packed with ear exercises, games, puzzles, tips, and interesting facts. The accompanying CDs provide additional playing enjoyment. In all three volumes, Dr. Checkup serves as the playful guide, constantly accompanying students with useful information and tips. In volume 3, he is joined by one Theodor Tonleiter.
Part 3 focuses on playing numerous pieces, but also covers new scales and intervals, as well as Theodor Tonleiter's explanation of major and minor keys. Students learn to improvise over a chord progression. Part 3 also includes rhythmic development of the most common and frequently used note value combinations. Interesting facts about the instrument's construction are discussed on a dedicated page.
