The foundation of the Series 11's sound comes from a solid spruce top combined with solid mahogany back and sides. These traditional solid woods deliver the pure tone of an acoustic guitar from the first touch, for an authentic tone that will only deepen with years of playing.

For authentic vintage styling, the Series 11 Dreadnought is finished in Tobacco Sunburst with an ultra-thin Zero-VOC* satin finish. Classy low-key Ivoroid dots map the fretboard, and the vintage Recording King headstock design delivers classic three-up vintage mojo.

Every Series 11 guitar comes out of our workshop with great-sounding Fishman Sonitone electronics for guitars that are as ready to drive as they are sonically and stylistically impressive.

Solid spruce top

Spruce is one of the most traditional woods used to make guitar tops. This is due to its stiffness and ideal strength-to-weight ratio. These characteristics give spruce a very dynamic sensitivity and a rich tone with many harmonic overtones. This makes it excellent for both powerful strumming and delicate fingerpicking.

Solid Mahogany back and sides

Mahogany has long been a highly sought-after wood for the back and sides of acoustic guitars. Its warm, rounded bass tone provides a foundation for any musical style to reach the listener. The midrange is very strong and full-bodied, while the treble is delicate and very pleasant.

Open pore finish

An open-pore finish on a guitar's soundboard allows it to vibrate more freely. This gives the guitar a more resonant and responsive tone. It also keeps the guitar's weight within limits, which in turn enhances playing pleasure.
