The kalimba originates from Africa. It is an ancient instrument, also known as "Mbira" and "Sansa," or simply "thumb piano." Metal reeds are placed on a wooden box and are plucked with the thumbs to produce a metallic, subtle sound.
The sound is pure joy and a great addition to any percussion set.
