NATURA 500. Distilled to the essence of what a great guitar should be, the 500 series guitar is the most affordable entry into the Natura line. Bookmatched, quartersawn soundboards from the Pacific Northwest provide the richness and tone found only in a Low-Mass braced solid top. Graphtech NuBone nut and saddle, an environmentally friendly UV Cured open-pore satin finish, and D’Addario coated EXP11 strings further contribute to sonic excellence. Walden MG-20 Active Electronics with onboard Tuner sounds great plugged in. 500 series guitars are tastefully detailed with black binding, an inlaid 2-ring rosette, a pearl Walden logo, and chrome die-cast tuners.
SOLID WESTERN RED CEDAR TOP
Cedar is less dense than spruce, and that softness typically translates into a sense of sonic warmth. If Sitka has a full dynamic range, cedar makes quieter tones louder, but it also imposes more of a ceiling on high volume levels driven by an aggressive attack. If one tries to drive a cedar top hard, at a certain point it will reach a volume limit. Typically, players with a lighter touch sound wonderful on a cedar-top guitar, fingerstyle players especially — that lighter touch will be amplified a little more, and one’s attack never reaches the ceiling.
MAHOGANY BACK & SIDES
The beloved mahogany wood has been a standard for back and sides on premium acoustics for many decades. The warm and well rounded low-end creates a basis for all music to reach it's audience. The mid-range is very strong and fullbodied, while the high-end is delicate and very pleasant.
GLASS-FIBRE REINFORCED NECK
The neck is reinforced with glass-fibre strips that offer improved stability for both the guitar staying in tune as wel as the overall set-up and thus playability. This ensures that the guitar will play and sound great for years to come.
