'DOUBLE TOP'

The top of the Rathbone No.5 guitar is made with a double top construction. That means that the top is constructed out of three layers, two outer layers made out of solid Sitka spruce and a middle layer out of woven carbon fibre. This results in a top that is both stiffer and more flexible at the same time, letting the top vibrate more easilt and resonate more strongly. This benefits both the playability and the sound of the guitar.
